Fate is ordained by heaven, bound by the red thread of destiny for life. Careful consideration is needed before matchmaking; our duty as the Matchmaker is weighty. The Matchmaker's duty is to unite couples. Three hundred years ago, Cupid arrived from the West and joined the profession, disrupting the Matchmaker's traditional practice of careful consideration before arranging marriages. This led to a surge in mismatched marriages, and the belief in divinely ordained unions lost faith, jeopardizing the Matchmaker's position. Just then, Cupid shot a golden arrow, carelessly binding couples arranged by the Matchmaker, adding insult to injury.
